Scottish junior football club, Dundee North End F.C. are celebrating starting 2024 with a generous donation from Carling Sport, an international sports investment company, with ties to the City.
Carling Sport, which is part of the international family investment office, The Carling Group, that is led by Dundonian businessman, Graeme Carling, and his wife Leanne, contacted Dundee North End at the end of 2023, to discuss a possible sponsorship. Carling Sport has a long history of supporting grass-roots sport, and currently sponsors the Midlands Amateur Football Association, a partnership which spans a decade.
Carling Sport has now delivered two 30ft storage containers, and a 20ft office unit to the club, who play their home games at North End Park on Fairmuir Street in Dundee.
Speaking of the commitment to local sport, Marc Stanton of Carling Sport commented; “As an organisation that invests in sporting organisations around the World, we understand, and believe in, the value of grass-roots sport. Funding and the ability to provide adequate facilities has always been a challenge of amateur and junior-level sport, and as an organisation we commit to helping where we can.”
“Dundee North End is a fantastic club, one that I know personally, and I am delighted to be able to support them in their own ambitions to remain one of the top teams in the East Region of the Scottish Junior Football Association.”
Dundee North End F.C. President Gary Irons added; “We were contacted by Carling Sport at the end of last year, where they offered to make the generous donation. Our club was formed in 1895 and has provided opportunities for countless players to continue the involvement in football. As a junior football club, we rely on our sponsors and benefactors to provide suitable facilities, and this latest donation from Carling Sport will support our efforts.
